DIY fabric face mask (with a sewing machine)

There are many ways to make a face mask at home and I will be showing you one of the best ways to make a face mask with a sewing machine.  

STEP 1:  Download a template of a face mask online like the one below. it is always easier to print it out and then carve out the shape of the mask.

 

STEP 2: Trace the template of the mask onto a piece of fabric (make sure the fabric is inside out when doing this) you can use any fabric of your choice but 100% cotton is always recommended.

STEP 3: Bring out the sewing machine and sew the curved edges of the fabric together (if you feel like it is not thick enough you can add another layer of fabric to it but make sure to leave a small hole cause you will be turning it inside out).

 STEP 4: Then you will get an elastic band and fold in and then put it in between your sewn fabric and a thinner one (the curved side of the elastic should be in the fabric and the two edges should be outside it and while doing all of this do not forget that your fabric should be inside out).

STEP 5: Now sew everything together (make sure to really sew in that elastic you can stitch it several times if you want to) but leave a small hole when you are almost done stitching (if you doubled your fabric leave the hole in the same place as the first one).

STEP 6: Turn it inside out using the hole that you left open and when the fabric is right side out stitch up the hole and you've gotten yourself a face mask.
